The elegant Long Market, is the main thoroughfare of the Old Town. Together with Dluga Street it formed the Royal Route and used to be a part of the merchant’s route. The Long Market and Dluga Street were always inhabited by noble men, merchants and prominent citizens. The streets also held various grand parades and outdoor celebrations. During World War II the Long Market was completely destroyed. Today, the reconstructed and pedestrianised street is one of the main attractions of the Old Town. It features beautiful buildings and the famous statue of Neptune. It is lined with restaurants, cafés and bars, being one of the favourite venues for the locals and tourists alike.
