Tawerna Dominikanska (The Dominican Tavern) is located at the heart of Gdansk, by the River Motlawa. It offers outstanding interiors, which feature doric pillars, striped cushions, bathrooms adorned with ceramic tiles and stained glass as well as art nouveau details. The extensive menu includes delicious Polish specialities as well as some Mediterranean classics. During the summer the guests can enjoy dining in a beer garden with a view over the Motlawa River and the Crane.

Our tour group of 20 travellers had reservations here in September. The place looked great but the service and overall bad attitude of the wait staff was like nothing I've ever experienced. Our tour leader served the water herself because we couldn't break-up the BS session the staff was having at the bar. No smiles, no conversatio, barely an acknowledgement that we were there. A waitress did finally serve our food, the order for which had been called-in 2 hours before we arrived. The fish was average; but try getting a drink!
